World Boxing Champion Zab ‘Super’ Judah, IAmWondaWoman Foundation, SOURCE360 present a day of “Fighting For Our Community” on Saturday, September 8th, 2018 in Brooklyn, NY
Brooklyn, NY – On Saturday, September 8th, 2018 6x World Boxing Champion Zab ‘Super’ Judah & his Super Judah Fight4Life Foundation, IAmWondaWoman Foundation, Londell McMillan and SOURCE360, presents “Fighting For Our Community”.
In 2017, the Daily News stated that within Brooklyn a great % “of its children are growing up in households under the poverty line, and less than half of working-age adults have jobs”. Zab ‘Super’ Judah is a professional boxer, who hails from those same streets of Brownsville, Brooklyn. Brownsville was categorized as “a very poor, black area, where even though the community leaders ask and try to get things for the community, they are ignored”. The mention of how “everything else in New York City and Brooklyn has changed — and yet Brownsville still feels like this isolated neighborhood” is quite saddening. Zab would like to create this annual event to bring light to the needs of the children in the community, and to one day open up his own boxing gym to give these children in the community a way out. Ultimately, he intends to perform everything in his power to change the culture of his birthright.
The event will take place in the form of a block party held within the SOURCE360 Festival downtown Brooklyn on Rockwell Place between Fulton St. & Lafayette Ave. The block party will host two boxing rings that will accommodate 15 minutes of boxing lessons to our youth (including pictures, video and Q&A) with Professional Boxers and Trainers from 9am to 1pm. Waivers must be signed by an adult for all participants under 18. Prior to boxing drills, an exhibition of live training will take place using professional boxers.
Notable Professional Boxers invited by Zab Judah and his dad and trainer Yoel Judah, include Kidd Chocolate, Iran Barkley, Curtis Stephens, Danny Jacobs, Justin Biggs, Sadam Ali, Monte Barrett, Eric Kelley, Junior Jones, Bruce ‘Shu Shu’ Carrington, Curtis Jones, and Big Baby Miller, to name a few.
There will be activities and amusement for youth in attendance, as the boxing event is an extension of the Annual SOURCE360 Festival Block Party, which will feature musical performances, Kids360 activities, face painting, live DJs, virtual reality games, and more. THE SOURCE’S 5TH ANNUAL SOURCE360 FESTIVAL & EXPERIENCE WILL BE HELD IN BROOKLYN, SEPTEMBER 8TH. THE BLOCK PARTY WILL BE A FREE EVENT AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
